On the Forbidden Letters - by John Fox

Acknowledgements

I would like to express my thanks to Jay Reed Armstrong for allowing me to quote from his emails and Henry Martin Jr. for advising me on Tantra.

Los Angeles, April 2007.

"nihil extra corpus et nihil post mortem."
[saying in Alchemy / "There is nothing outside the body and nothing after death."]

"Edinger then posits that there are as many universes, as there are centers of consciousness. This means he is a solipsist.'
[Henry Martin Jr.(HMJr.)]

"To beheaded, or not to beheaded, that is the question."
[message left at the website of Gary Osborn]

  [ Kali Ma ]

1.

"In certain grail-lore heads are taken off and replaced by other heads. Now, we are not talking about the head of flesh to be taken off. That would be lethal of course. It is the microcosmic, subtle head, interwoven in the head of flesh that is taken off and replaced after the fire by a new subtle head, the Christ." [The Paris 4]

2.

"It is difficult to see how we can see ourselves in any way redeemed by the death of Christ."
[Carl Jung]

3.

"According to tantric lore, the Goddess Kali is the Dark Secret of the universe. An initiatory power, the Ultimate Shakti [i.e. energy/Fox]. Within the body she is the Kundalini, the Serpent Power, the key to liberation." [Pagan Paths]

4.

"One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The latter procedure however is disagreeable and therefore not popular." [Jung]

5.

"Knees aren't going to bring you to heaven, the abyss is." [HMJr.]

6.

"Behind the veil of all mystical allegories of ancient doctrines, behind the darkness and strange ordeals of initiations, under the seal of sacred writings, in the ruins of Nineveh, on the crumbling stones of old temples, and on the blackened visage of the Assyrian Sphinx, in the monstrous paintings which interpret to the faithful of India the inspired pages of the Vedas, in the cryptic emblems of our old books on alchemy, in the ceremonies practised at reception by all secret societies, there are found indications of a doctrine which is everywhere the same, and everywhere carefully concealed." [Eliphas Levi]

7.

"But whatever the authors and artists were concealing, they were at the same time concealing their ignorance too. Because no matter how packed the symbol, how sublime the emblem, the key to the universal doctrine these symbols pointed to was lacking. This is clearly shown in the Forbidden Letters." [Jay Reed Armstrong(JRA)]

8.

"The preeminent question now is: who gave us that alchemical doctrine? The answer to this question can, in my opinion, only be given through good old Jungian psychology: it was the Self, the same force that composed the fifth of Mahler and painted the Mona Lisa, the [in the words of Edward Edinger/Fox] 'ordering and unifying center of the total psyche, the foundation of our being, most simply described as God'  who gave us these teachings. A God who then made sure that the key to those teachings stayed concealed."[JRA]

9.

"In most cultures the phenomenology of the Self is identified with God or the pantheon of Gods." [Anthony Stevens in 'On Jung']

10.

"Perhaps that key was not given because the Great Work somehow requires naivete. A Work including the search for the Grail. After all, Parzival is called the 'pure fool' and his greenness is worked out carefully by all Grail-writers without exception." [JRA]

11.

"Finding the Grail will then most likely be one of the most delicate things a man can do psychologically. And putting that Grail to work afterwards in the Night of the Soul perhaps one of the most unpleasant." [JRA]

[Theseus kills the Minotaur as Ariadne looks on ]

12.

"In the labyrinth of that Night our beast, the dark side of our Self, the Minotaur, is freed, fought and transmuted by the Alchemist into light bit by bit. Robert Flink, writing on the symbolical meaning of the Minotaur, reminds us that we still possess the cruelty of the animal in the field, but no longer its innoncence, and calls us devils therefore, and should definitely stick to his guns here." [JRA]

13.

"[Nazi Germany] was a carrion of evil, unimaginably worse than the normal devil. And since Germany is not on the moon, I have drawn my conclusions for the rest of mankind." [Jung]

14.

"Nonetheless, the real history of the world seems, in verba Jungi, to be 'the progressive incarnation of the deity'. When Jung spoke of this incarnation though, he was speaking of a gradual one, and of the masses, where he should have spoken of the existence of a sudden one in the individual, the alchemist." [JRA]

15.

"If the testimony of the Paris 4 is true, and I have no reason to assume it isn't, are we then living in the 'Latter Days'? Petrus Bonus, who still thinks one is to be resurrected from a grave by the way, Petrus Bonus tells us that the old philosophers discerned the Last Judgement in the germination and birth of the Stone of Alchemy, the agent to the Kingdom of God." [JRA]

16.

"This is what the Kingdom of God is like: a man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how." [Gospel according to Mark]

17.

"[That Kingdom] grows quite the way Jesus tells us it grows; like a plant, in the body, with the full grown chakra's as the flowers in the end." [The Paris 4]

18.

"The Paris 4 confirm that that seed sprouts and grows by itself. They tell us their gay man had no active part in his Work of the Sun. It was all done by the inner alchemist." [JRA]

19.

"All by itself the soil produces grain. First the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come." [Mark]

20.

"But where does all this leave us, 'ordinary' people, not having been decapitated by Kali Ma? Are we the tares from Matthew 13 perhaps?" [JRA]

21.

"The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

The servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field [on September 4th 1986/Fox]? From whence then hath thy field tares? He said unto them, an enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn." [Matthew]

22.

"Because every tree [i.e. spine and brain/Fox] that does not bear good fruit [i.e. chakra's/Fox] will be cut down and thrown into the fire." [Matthew]

23.

"Without a parable he didn't speak to them; but privately, to his own disciples, he explained all the things." [Matthew]

24.

"It is clear that the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven are about alchemy. - But 'why secrets?'(Nietzsche)" [Wood]

25.

"For whosoever hath [i.e. lightbody] , to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Therefore speak I to them in parables." [Matthew]

26.

"Is Spitzer right then when he claims that 'a metaphysical theory is bogus, if that theory tells us that we are all, potentially or not, children or priests of God, and equal before Him?' Or are we to trust the CE2 who wouldn't be surprised 'if the gold of immortality is fetched by some for the benefit of many?'" [JRA]

27.

"But what about  Simon Peter saying in Thomas 114 'make Mary leave us, for females don't deserve life.' - Then Jesus said:  'Look, I will guide her to make her male, so that she too may become a living spirit, resembling you males.'  - In other words: can't females be resurrected because the microcosmic female [Kundalini] wouldn't be tolerated in the macrocosmic female?" [The Paris 4]

28.

"The anima and animus exist precisely because of the original hermaphroditic nature of the Self, which, however, begins in the womb to develop a gender bias in favor of the sex of the child." [Anthony Stevens in 'On Jung']

29.

"The Self is rooted in biology." [Stevens in 'On Jung']

30.

"In their brain 'gay men are found to be more like women, and lesbians show similarities to men.' The brain of gay men and lesbian women 'seems to be cross-sex shifted in certain respects, more than those of heterosexuals.'" [de Renzi, Fenelon and de la Censerie quoting Wilson and Rachman from 'Born Gay']

31.

"What made our evolution possible and our survival secure was nature's discovery of sexual reproduction." [Stevens in 'On Jung']

32.

"There is no linear evolution; there is only a circumambulation of the Self." [Carl Jung in Modern man in search of a soul]

33.

"In the absence of an Y chromosome and androgens, the foetus continues its development along a pattern which eventually emerges as female. Thus it appears that when the conditions necessary for active masculine differentiation are lacking, development proceeds more passively along feminine lines. Here again the Taoist division is evident: females are, males have to be made." [Stevens in 'On Jung']

34.

"According to researchers the men on earth (the Y-chromosome is passed only from father to son) can trace their roots to a particular male who lived in Africa almost 60.000 years ago, but the female can go all the way back to 125.000 years."[Worldwatcher]

35.

"It is Simon Peter, of all the twelve disciples, who hates ''our (female) race", to quote 'Mary Magdalene'. Now, since no Peter and no Magdalene ever existed, it is meaningful in my opinion that exactly the disciple who represents the Stone of Transmutation, the agent to the Kundalini-fire, is misogynic. 'Make Mary leave us, for females don't deserve life,'  [that Peter in the Gospel of Thomas]." [JRA]

36.

"A french guy wants to me write a quote on the Forbidden Letters by the Paris four at the Philip Gardener site. Well geez everything I stand for is counter to the pathos of those letters." [Jana Dixon, the author of 'Biology of Kundalini']

37.

"Unless [the Paris 4] are talking about making white powder of gold from palladium group elements I cannot see why kundalini myth ever came up with the idea of there being a stone involved." [Jana Dixon, the author of 'The Biology of Kundalini]

38.

"That stone will have to go." [Forum]

39.

"No stone, no paradise." [Osgood]

40.

"The powder features again in an Alexandrian document called the Iter Alexandri ad Paradisum. This is an old parable of Alexander the Great's journey to Paradise: the kingdom of Ahura Mazda, the Persian god of light. The account features the enchanted Paradise Stone." [Laurence Gardener]

41.

"In Laprecht's Alexanderlied [the Alexandersong/Fox] vs. 7107
[ http://scrineum.unipv.it/wight/alexsv.htm#266 ], he [Wolfram (von Eschenbach/Fox)] would have read that the stone sent to Alexander [the Great] from the gate of the Earthly Paradise gives 'den alden di jugint', 'gives youth to the old'. While this text would account for the identification of the Grail with a rejuvenating talisman, the Iter Alexandri and Paradisum suggests why Wolfram asserted that it was called lapis exilis." [Roger Sherman Loomis in 'Grail: from Celtic Myth to Christian Symbol']

42.

"Wolfram von Eschenbach was indeed the last one to write on the Grail, but he's the only one who has the connection Phoenix [Kundalini-metaphor/Fox] and stone." [Forum]

43.

"Alchemy is not only the 'goal of evolution', as the Paris 4 say, it is on top the one force that fights entropy. And is thereby evolution proper." [The CE2 at World Mysteries]

44.

"What exactly, I wondered, is life? And how did it get started? Just at this time, my PhD supervisor gave me a curious paper by the highly respected physicist Eugene Wigner ['The probability of the existence of a self-reproducing unit', 1961/Fox]. The paper purported to prove that a physical system could not make a transition from a non-living to a living state without contravening the laws of quantum physics. Ah-ha! So Wigner at least thought that something funny must have gone on when life started." [Paul Davies in 'The fifth miracle']

45.

"Thus, the general struggle for life is neither a fight for basic material, nor for energy, but for entropy becoming available by the transition from the hot sun sun to the cold earth."[Ludwig Bolzman quoted by Klaus Mainzer in 'Thinking Complexity']

46.

"We must be careful, however, not to fall into a trap here. Just because life is consistent with the second law of thermodynamics does not mean that the second law explains life. It certainly doesn't." [Paul Davies on the Bolzman quote [45] in 'The fifth miracle']

47.

"The origin of life is the key to the meaning of life." [Paul Davies in 'The fifth miracle']

48.

"The second principle of thermodynamics is a heap of nonsense. Order, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder." [Forum]

49.

"Thank you for your second reply. We are, by the way, four. You can call us the Paris 4."
[The Paris 4]

50.

"A friend of Graham Hancock told me that the Paris 4 are not 4, but much larger." [Forum]

51.

"It's a possibility that any and all those who have written the response articles know the Paris 4, or are associated in some way. " [Gary Osborn]

52.

"Do the Paris 4 exist at all?" [Forum]

53.

"Are we sure that alchemy is completely terrestrial?" [di Pietro]
